Knowledge and Technology Transfer

Maximise the opportunities for the railway industry to benefit from technology developments in other industries and countries

RSSB has invested in a new capability in knowledge and technology transfer that will further support the industry in identifying and implementing solutions.  This service can actively monitor research activity and technical developments both from within and outside the GB rail industry. 

It also services bespoke requests associated with gathering and analysis of information on the current state of knowledge in a given area in support of industry activities and decisions.

Who can request a K&TT search?
The availability of these services is limited to:

• Members of RSSB
• Department for Transport and Office of Rail Regulation
• Principal cross-industry client groups for research managed by RSSB

This list will be reviewed periodically by RSSB.

How long will it take for a search to be undertaken?
Once requested, the searches will be undertaken in a priority order depending on a combination of:

• Urgency of request
• Nature and complexity of request
• Resource availability
• Availability of requestor to talk to RSSB to steer and elaborate request requirements

The requestor will be given an indication of how soon their search will be able to be undertaken.
