Research and Development

The workforce development section works in close liaison with the RSSB R&D section of this website, with particular focus on all areas with a workforce training and development theme.

There are a number of completed and ongoing projects that are assisting stakeholders that are available to be downloaded. Research has covered areas such as Driver licensing, trainer competence and training management, use of technology based training, adult learning styles, assessment and verification, skills fade and the use of simulators.

Have you got any interesting issues that you consider could be investigated through the programme?

If you feel that RSSB should carry out a detailed research project into any area or aspect of the railway, then please submit your idea on the standard ‘Research Idea’ form.
