Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat is the difference between Railway Group Standards and Network Rail company standards (formerly called Line Standards)? Committees who are representative of the various sectors of the industry. Network Rail company standards are specific to the company and cover issues that are solely within Network Rail’s responsibility, often including how Network Rail will deliver the requirements of Railway Group Standards. For example, Railway Group Standards will set out the quality of track alignment that has to be achieved to ensure trains run safely on the track. Network Rail company standards will define how Network Rail’s wishes to deliver that track alignment and may be imposed through contract on the company's suppliers/contractors who will construct and/or maintain that track.Information on how to order copies of Network Rail company standards is available on the IHS website.
