Frequently Asked Questions

What is the impact of Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSIs) on Railway Group Standards?

The industry’s Strategy for Standards Management requires that the content of Railway Group Standards be aligned with the content of the TSIs. A major piece of work was undertaken to identify any issues between the published TSIs for the high-speed Trans-European Network and Railway Group Standards. The objective is to continue to resolve or remove any issues, where possible by amending the Railway Group Standards at the appropriate time.

When the TSIs for the conventional rail subsystems are published, a similar activity will need to be undertaken to identify and resolve or remove issues between those TSIs and Railway Group Standards.
