The International Railway Safety Council is taking place in Paris, 2-7 October 2016.
RSSB's Professional Head of Human Factors, Ann Mills, and Director of System Safety, George Bearfield, are speaking at the event.
Ann is speaking about the role of human factors in managing safety at the platform train interface, while George will talk about developing a robust safety reporting culture and dynamic reporting systems.
The International Railway Safety Council is a great opportunity to share the work that RSSB has been doing with and on behalf of our members to our international colleagues. The development of safety intelligence in the rail industry is a key subject and RSSB has been doing transformational work in this area, with the SMIS+ programme and the launch of the Platform Train Interface risk assessment tool, that colleagues internationally are very interested in. The Council is also an opportunity for us to learn about the latest developments from others across the world, said George.
The UK has been an active member and supporter of the council since its inception, hosting the 2012 event in London, organised by RSSB. The 2016 event has been organised by SNCF and the French Railway Safety Regulator (EPSF).
