Following their membership to RSSB in July of this year, Loram UK Ltd have spoken about the value in becoming a member.

Loram UK Ltd (formerly Railway Vehicle Engineering Limited (RVEL)) specialises in engineering work on railway traction and rolling stock. Based in Derby, Lorum UK offer customers a full range of rolling stock engineering solutions; from train servicing through routine fleet maintenance to the heaviest of vehicle and component re-engineering projects.

Loram UK’s Operations & Safety Director Gary Stewart said, “‘Loram UK are pleased to have been able to join RSSB to support our move into rail operations, well in advance of the licence obligation coming into force requiring us to do so, because we believe there is value in being a member and gaining access to member benefits.

We are particularly interested in the development of operational standards, to understand what changes may be coming in the future, and to be able, in time, to join forums where we can develop the future direction of standards.  We also value obtaining unrestricted access to the wealth of knowledge in Spark and will be using Safety Management Intelligence System (SMIS+) in the future.

We have found the RSSB relationship team a pleasure to work with and they have helped us to secure the best option on value for money membership to support our fledgling rail operations.

RSSB’s Engagement Manager Alan Tordoff presented Loram UK with their certificate on 24 August 2016.
