Accident Investigation Awareness for Managers
Being able to deliver training and briefing remotely during the Covid-19 lockdown can help reduce potential backlog and minimise the effects of skills fade in safety critical tasks. For the first time RSSB has developed an online instructor-led Accident Investigation Awareness for Managers course.
Delivered over two days the course comprises of four 1 to 2 hour modules delivered by highly experienced trainers from RSSB’s human factors and operations teams. The course has been designed to be delivered online to small groups and attendees are encouraged to apply their learning to their job between each session.
The course will provide delegates with a comprehensive overview of the accident investigation process outlined in the RIS-3119-TOM, the Rail Industry Standard for Accident and Incident Investigation. Attendees will also learn industry best practice techniques and tools developed to support the standard.
By the end of this course, delegates will:
- Understand the accident investigation process
- Have an awareness of the process to support team members conduct investigations
- Understand the methods and techniques taught on the standard Accident Investigation Training course and how to best apply these.
Who should attend?
This course is aimed at managers who oversee the accident investigation process or review accident investigation reports such as a Designated Competence Person.
It’s also suitable for managers responsible for managing investigators in operations, engineering or station management.
