Non-Technical Skills Awareness and Integration
Course overview
NTS play a vital role in safety. They help people to anticipate, identify, and mitigate errors in task performance.
This course takes a proactive approach to NTS development. It demonstrates how integrating NTS into competence management systems, training and briefing programmes improves safety performance. You will receive the information, tools and insights needed to do this in the most effective way.
This course is delivered face-to-face over three days, or remotely over a week.

Paul Leach, Head of Human Factors
Paul has a BSc in Psychology, an MSc in Occupational Psychology and is a Registered Occupational Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council. Since 2008, Paul has developed and delivered training across many aspects of human factors, including leadership, safety culture, competence and psychometric assessment, incident investigation and non-technical skills. -
Anisha Tailor, Principal Human Factors Specialist
Anisha is a Chartered human factors specialist with seven years' research experience, spanning rail, healthcare and road safety. She has a particular interest in the practical strategies that individuals can use to perform tasks safely and reliably. -
James Lonergan, Lead Human Factors Specialist
James has an MSc in Occupational Psychology and is a member of the British Psychological Society. His interests focus on individual decision-making in operations and developing practical solutions for individuals and organisations to encourage safe and reliable performance. -
Priya Shah, Senior Human Factors Specialist
Priya has an MSc in Occupational Psychology and is a member of both the British Psychological Society and the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors. She has over 20 years’ experience developing and delivering training in education and safety-critical settings, covering topics such as competence, risk-based training needs analysis, non-technical skills, and psychometric assessment.
