Case study: Identifying High Carbon Materials

A new maintenance facility was required east of Plumstead Railway Station, London, as part of the Crossrail project. A maintenance building, accommodation building, undercover stores and associated external works such as car parking and loading bays required construction. Embodied carbon assessments found that concrete aggregate and steel replacements could lead to a 30% reduction in carbon.
