RED 44 - Assuming Safety

The reconstruction in this edition of RED involves some cows that have broken through the boundary fence and got onto the railway line. We see how poor communications between driver and signaller, and a failure to follow correct emergency procedures, allow the situation to escalate into a serious incident.

In part two, we take a look at the research which focuses on best practice training for drivers on routes undergoing change. We mark 175 years of the railway Inspectorate; and feature a new approach designed to provide a deeper understanding of why SPADs happen.
