RSSB launches new training on rolling stock digital systems

The Introduction to Rolling Stock Digital Systems course gives a clear overview of technologies such as onboard software, telecommunications networks, and cyber security, and highlights how these technologies support the design, operation, and upgrade of trains.

Trains are becoming more connected, but many professionals are working with digital systems without a specialist background. The course helps close that gap by covering key areas, including:

• Rail vehicle digital architectures
• Onboard software in a rail context
• Telecommunications networks
• Cyber security for operational technology.

Delegates will learn how to assess digital systems in line with industry standards—including RIS-2700-RST—identify potential cyber risks early in a project and recognise when specialist expertise is necessary.

The two-day course will be delivered face-to-face. Aimed at engineers, IT professionals new to rail, and those involved in train procurement or upgrades, Introduction to Rolling Stock Digital Systems combines practical insight, technical knowledge, and industry expertise to support safer, more effective decision-making.
