Work-related violence survey for rail staff
Featured story31 October 2024
The Rail Delivery Group and Cambridge University are conducting a survey to understand the prevalence and nature of work-related violence.
Work-related violence is a recognised problem in the rail industry. Research carried out by RSSB in 2018 found 94.1% of frontline staff to have experienced work-related violence, with 25.6% experiencing physical assaults.
But there’s still a lot we don’t fully understand. As part of our efforts to improve safety on the railway and reduce work-related violence, the industry has created an anonymous survey for anyone who works in the rail industry in a customer-facing role. It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
The results of the survey will be vital to inform future work to improve safety on the railway.
