The Precursor Indicator Model measures the underlying risk from train accidents by tracking changes in accident precursors
The Safety Risk Model (SRM) models the safety risk of the GB mainline railway.

The Buffer Stop Risk Assessment Tool is designed to meet the requirements of section 11, Requirements for Buffer Stops and End Impact Walls, of RIS-7016-INS, 'Interface between Station Platforms, Track, Trains and Buffer Stops'.
The Definitions Dictionary has been developed to provide users with definitions for terms used within the Rail Risk Portal and the tools available on it
The GeoSRM provides localised risk estimates by taking into consideration local features. Access is only to support the research project T972.
The Platform Aerodynamic Assessment Tool assists users in carrying out a platform aerodynamic risk assessment.

When used in conjunction with RSSB document - Guidance on the preparation and use of company risk assessment profiles for transport operators, the SRM-RPT allows transport operators to develop a risk profile for the their operation.
The SPAD Risk Ranking Tool gives a measure of the level of risk associated with each SPAD that occurs, and as such enables the industrys performance to be measured in terms of a percentage reduction year on year
Taking Safe Decisions sets out the industry consensus view of how safety is taken into account when taking decisions. Taking safe decisions documents can be found on the main RSSB website. The analysis tool is available to RSSB members through the Rail-Risk-Portal.
