Cameras (standard or thermal imaging) at a fixed point or attached  to moving vehicles / objects (helicopters, drones, trains) that can manoeuvre around the railway (e.g. problem locations).  Sometimes accompanied by technologies like motion detection or speakers to warn trespassers.
