Alternative methods to predict ground borne vibrations on structures on different soils
Last updated on 05 September 2011 7:29
Analytical and finite element models are commonly used to investigate ground borne vibrations from high speed lines. This paper will examine the strengths and limitations of each type of model and discuss the possibility of an alternative solution, namely the use of a seismic ‘finite difference time domain’ (FDTD) technique.
