Assessed casualties for proposed MK 1 EMU modifications (RR-STR-95-090)

Following the recommendations of the HSE report into the Cowden collision in October 1994, a number of options to improve the crashworthiness of class 421, 422 and 423 Mk 1 derivative EMUs has been proposed with a view to reducing the casualty rate when such vehicles are involved in accidents.
