Status report on Class 323 main transformer failures 27/06/95 (RR-SAM-086)

Seven main transformers have failed on Class 323 EMU after short service. The background to the investigative and diagnostic testing work is reviewed. Examinations of recent failures and the interpretation of DGA results is reported. A programme of future work is proposed to investigate the problems further.
