TRANSAERO : a major European research programme on transient aerodynamics for railway system optimisation

Last updated on 26 October 2012 1:43
A major research programme named TRANSAERO, involving railway, institutional and academic partners through Europe, is underway to investigate transient aerodynamic effects on high-speed European rail traffic. The project is primarily concerned with three phenomena, namely cross wind effects, trains passing effects and train/tunnel interaction effects, especially the sonic boom problem.
