Experimental reproduction of wheel thermal cracks

Thermal cracks initiating on the wheels of vehicles equipped with tread brakes cause the increase of rolling noise and the aggravation of ride comfort as well as the reduction of wheel service life due to the bigger depth of cut. In many kinds of vehicles, wheel thermal cracks are visible.
