Fracture mechanics data for low carbon austenitic manganese rail steel (IM-MF-071)

This report summarises a series of crack growth tests carried out on water-quenched low carbon austenitic manganese rail steel specimens. The rail was rolled in 1974 and the tests carried out during 1979 and 1981. The chemical composition of the rail material is given in table 1.
