An assessment of the strength and lateral resistance of the BSC W402 series steel sleeper for BSC track products (EC) (RR-MF-034)

Strain measurements have been made on the BS TP W402 series steel sleeper for a mixture of passenger and freight traffic loadings. These measurements were taken at locations in straight and curved track for plain rail. Sleeper strains were also measured adjacent to a severely dipped joint in straight track.
