Track alignments for the prediction of lateral track forces (TM-VDY-029)

In 1985, a design case lateral track alignment input was devised in order to predict the worst lateral track forces which a railway vehicle might be expected to generate in service. This work was carried out with very little access to information regarding actual track misalignments which occur in practice.
