High performance brakes - track testing of gearbox mounted hydrokinetic brakes and SCG retarders (TM-PBS-128)

Two designs of brake for use from speeds up to 65 m/s (240 km/h) are being studied as part of the High Performance Brake Project. One is the SCG retarder, a development of an automotive device; the other is a development of the APT-P power car transmission hydrokinetic (HK) brake.
