Aerodynamic tests on a BR/Brecknell Willis high speed pantograph fitted to a class 87 locomotive (TR-VTI-002)

Last updated on 17 May 2013 3:11
The aerodynamics uplift forces acting on a BR/Brecknell Willis High Speed pantograph when fitted to a Class 87 electric locomotive have been measured for normal wire heights and speeds up to 100 mph. Results show that the pantograph is aerodynamically satisfactory under these conditions.
