Westhouses crossing test site - an assessment of the performance of a further group of crossings (TM-MF-098)

Last updated on 17 May 2013 3:12
In 1980, a test site was established at Westhouses (LM Region) to compare the performances of crossings made using differing materials and manufacturing methods. The site consisted of six dummy turnouts in the up main Sheffield-Trent Junction (Erewash Valley) line; therefore only one side of each crossing was run on.
