Dynamometer and track tests have been carried out on an axle mounted multiplate disc brake designed and manufactured by Dunlop to a BR performance specification based on an APT running up to 62.5 m/s (140 mph) with an axle load of 13.2 tonnes. A number of problems have been encountered.
