Wheelset impact/yaw stiffness test rig (TM-DOS-147)

The behaviour of vehicles at track irregularities, such as dipped rail joints is of great concern to the railway mechanical and civil engineers. The force/time history for a vehicle crossing a joint shows that a peak force occurs 1/4-1/2 ms after the point at which a wheel crosses the joint.
