A method for measuring conformal contact areas under dynamic conditions (IM-WRI-025)
Last updated on 24 May 2013 3:39
It has been shown that the wear of a wheel on a rail is proportional to the product of the creep force and creepage (1). This product can be divided by the contact area to give a "wear number" (2) which is useful in comparing results from different wear machines.
