The effect of eight different brake materials on track circuit resistance (TM-PBS-034)

In September 1980 the DM & EE requested that the R & D Division investigate the possible causes of a track circuit failure on the Watford St Albans line. The failure was thought to have been caused by composition brakeblocks laying down a resistive film on the wheels or rails.
