Measurement of wheelset yaw stiffness on cross-braced rapid transit bogie (IM-DOS-103)

Last updated on 07 June 2013 2:42
A convenient method has been found to measure wheelset yaw stiffness. The measured value of 6.5 MN.m/rad/wheelset is significantly higher than the designed. 5 MN.m/rad/wheelset. It is thought that the use of properly surface hardened bearing support plates would greatly reduce any error present in this figure.
