A theory of wheelset forces for two point contact between wheel and rail, and comparison with the general quasi-static curving theory of elkins and gostling (TM-DA-030)

Last updated on 21 June 2013 3:03
In this paper a quasistatic theory of wheelset forces for two point contact interaction with the rail is presented. The theory takes into consideration contact conditions on the treads as predicted by the CONTACT PATCH PROGRAM and uses the table of Kalker forces for calculating tangential forces on the treads.
