The small scale friction testing of Ferodo 2722 composition brakeblock (TM-TRIB-040)

Braking tests conducted by CM & BE in July 1979 on Class 503 units on the Liverpool Southport line confirmed that reported incidences of extended stopping distances with this stock were due to poor brake performance. Class 503 units are tread braked with Ferodo 2722, a low friction composition block.
