Examination of class 50 crankshaft failures occuring in 1978 and 1979 (TM-MET-062)

During the last 2 years three Class 50 crankshafts have fractured in service and each in turn has been examined by the R & DD at the request of the CM & EE, BRB. This report details the results of these examinations.
