Thermal stress analysis of a N.S.W.G.R. freight car wheel subjected to drag braking followed by stop braking (IM-EA-017)

This report presents the stress analysis results of a straight sloping web wheel subjected to thermal loading at the tread. The wheel geometry chosen is that used by the P.T.C. of W.S.W. for freight vehicles.
