The effect of ice on a composite friction brake (IM-TRIB-031)
Last updated on 05 July 2013 10:24
As a result of earlier tests (1) describing how increased stopping distances were produced by ice on disc brakes, more information was required as to the static friction coefficient of ice on steel, and how this varied with temperature. In. all other tests only kinetic friction values had been determined.
