Fracture route determination in beta alumina ceramics (TM-MS-044)

In various tests involving sodium sulphur cells fracture of the beta alumina electrolyte tube has been observed in individual areas, such as the glass seal at the open end of the tube or at the dome, and other fractures have extended from one end of the tube to the other.
