Evaluation of base plates with welded-on shoulders for Brazil (TR-MET-003)

Chemical analysis and welding tests have indicated that a large variability could be experienced in the weldability of the Brazilian baseplates. Recommendations are given in the report for welding such base plates and cover several procedures with varying safety factors.
