Theoretical study of bending of composite beams (IM-PDU-002)

This report describes the theoretical re-design in conventional and composite materials of a heavy steel beam incorporated in some track-testing equipment. Substantial weight reductions are shown to be possible when using light-weight composites, although the cost increases considerably.
