Lightweight rolling stock and energy conservation (TM-PDU-004)

Recent dramatic increases in the price of oil have occasioned much greater interest in energy conservation. This report quantifies some financial benefits of substituting lightweight materials (such as GRP, CFRP an aluminium) in various types of rolling stock.
