Fractured swing-nose crossings - Darlington parkgate (TM-FM-054)
Last updated on 02 August 2013 2:50
Two 1 in 13 swing-nose crossings (Mk II) installed at Darlington Parkgate on 25 October 1970 have subsequently suffered failure, having been removed on 21 July 1974. These crossings formed a trailing crossover in the East Coast Main Line but also served as facing crossings for the branch line.
