Crack length measurement by Rayleigh Waves : the interpretation of the technique by photoelastic visualisation (TM-PHYS-016)
Last updated on 02 August 2013 2:52
The requirement to monitor the progression of cracks in rail heads during fatigue testing has led to the development of a new technique employing Rayleigh waves. The principle of using the propagation time of waves which confine themselves to the surface of a testpiece was first tried here by R.
