A basic study of wheel/rail adhesion, 6 - adhesion and contamination on B.R. track (TN-TRIB-003)
Last updated on 29 August 2013 3:15
The way in which adhesion varies on B.R. track has been determined. The quantity and variety of rail head contamination has been studied, including specific types of contaminant peculiar to certain individual sites. Generally, oil is surface active and is present in such small quantities that boundary lubrication conditions apply.
