Incidence of battery faults on diesel locomotive (IM-EC-003)

There is a certain amount of "hearsay" regarding the shortcomings of locomotive battery performance. For example, there is reputed to be a high incidence of "flat" batteries, with its consequential disruption to services. What data is available has been analysed in an attempt to substantiate this "hearsay".
