A data handling unit for recording discharge in high voltage insulators (IM-ETR-012)

The evaluation of high voltage insulators under conditions of severe pollution, such as in a fog chamber, is performed by making two types of measurement (1). The first consists of periodic inspections for surface faults and noting the extent of any damage to the insulator by tracking, cracking or erosion.
