An investigation into the possible use of pole change winding linear motors for the existing full scale research vehicle (TN-EL-005)

1. A simple way of controlling the speed of a linear induction motor appears to be possible by varying the number of poles of the motor. This is a technique which has been employed successfully on rotating induction machines and so would seem to merit serious consideration for linear motors.
