Simulation of large railway networks. Robustness test for the timetable 2003 in North Rhine Westphalia, Germany

In 1998 the first phase of a regular interval timetable was set up in Germany's federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). In 2003 a second phase was taken into service. It includes further optimisations in regional passenger services and long distance services using the new high-speed line Cologne – Frankfurt/Main.
