Pantograph head environmental tests for carbon fibre composites (TM-PL-001)

In order to maintain constant contact with the overhead wire, one of the essential features of pantograph heads on high speed electric trains is a light mass. Existing pantograph heads of the two bar type comprise an aluminium frame weighing about 5 kg and metallised carbons weighing about 3 kg.
