The effect of various prestressing treatments on the fatigue strength of 9-plate springs (TN-FM-023)

Constant amplitude fatigue tests have been carried out on 9-plate springs to assess the effects of different prestressing treatments on the fatigue strength.None of the treatments examined gave an improvement which was likely to be large enough to justify the cost of applying the treatment to springs.
