Public Transportation in specific railways has been favourite targets for terrorist attacks for 100 years. Until around 1990, the focus of terrorist attacks was predominantly on express trains. Major terrorist incidents in Tokyo (1995), Madrid (2004), London (2005) and Mumbai (2006) set new standards for attacks on public transport networks.
