A study of interacting modes of track deterioration in heavy haul curves

A range of measurements of track deterioration have been made on a series of curves on the Malmbana iron ore railway in the north of Sweden, including assessment of track gauge, rail wear, wear and distortion of rail fastening components and development of rolling contact fatigue on the rail head.
